Response to a theist

This was said in a facebook group discussion board....

"why would He change what he already deemed good?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe because its not true...? Maybe its made up? Umm maybe its not supposed to be taken literally? Just a few suggestions man.

Creationism is not science, it is not a theory, it is not even a hypothesis! They fairy tale of magic man done it does not belong in a science class room, it belongs in a comparative religions class. If you knew ANYTHING about science you would know that the creation myth is not in any way shape or form scientific.

A hypothesis is an EDUCATED guess, based on observation. Usually, a hypothesis can be supported or refuted through experimentation or more observation. A hypothesis can be disproven, but not proven to be true. Since there is no evidence for the creation myth, since it cannot be tested, and since it cannot be refuted it is not a hypothesis, and it never will be because creationism is trying to prove something.

A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. A theory is valid as long as there is no evidence to dispute it. Therefore, theories can be disproven. Basically, if evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, then the hypothesis can become accepted as a good explanation of a phenomenon. One definition of a theory is to say it's an accepted hypothesis. Theories explain FACTS, things that are REAL. Change over time is an undisputed, big, bold FACT. Your creationism myth is not a theory because it is not supported by ANY evidence.

There is no bias in schools! Most people in this country are THEISTS, most people in this country believe in god, if anything there is a bias towards THEISM. Read the constitution, this is a country founded on SECULAR principles and the founding fathers came to this country escaping religious persecution, a secular government IS WHAT THE FOUNDING FATHERS WOULD HAVE WANTED.

A secular government, the one we have, allows ALL religious beliefs, ceremonies, doctrines and all that worshitting crap to be left to the people. You have the right to teach your children whatever silly story you believe to be true, you have the right to believe whatever you want, and you have the right to your religious ceremonies as long as you dont break other laws while you are at it.

HOWEVER, NOBODY dont have constitutional right to infiltrate your religious beliefs in the public domain, you dont have the right to establish your beliefs and teach them with tax pawer money, you dont have the right to use public property and you dont have the right to tell others what to believe. And that is what you do when you try to teach creationism in schools, creationism is and has been proven to be false over and over again. There are stacks of evidence refuting the idea and the proponents of creationism (hovind, Stein, Cameron, Comfort, etc) are known for their dishonest techniques and their ignorance when it comes to science.

Your creationism myth will be regarded as a possibility the day that you present eveidence that it might be true, your myth will be included in the science text books the day that it becomes a supported hypothesis, not before. Your "deeply held religious beliefs" have no reason to be in a science class. You can pray all you want, you can take your bible to class and you can even believe that god made you fail/pass the test, but you cant use MY money, and the buildings that were built with MY money to teach your beliefs.

Start providing evidence for you claims dude... whatever you say has no bearing in the real world unless you provide evidence to the contrary. Saying magic man done it DOES NOT explain anything.

Another response to an angry theist

Society has come to a point in time when we, humanity, have to make a very important decision. Religion has declared war on humanity and each and every single religion out there is promoting a destructive doctrine, the doctrine of absolute truths. Whoever does not abide by the rules set forth by this insane and offensive belief system is instantly declared a fool and an infidel. Most religious texts are very clear about the punishment we deserve and all theists I have talked to share the belief. We deserve to burn in hell for ever.

What you are doing rainey is very simple, and I dont know how you manage to see past it. When you argue with me, you say things that would be considered offensive under any context you could possibly think of. I do not believe in hell or heaven, so one would think that my immediate reaction to the comments you make about my "final destination" would and should mean nothing to me. That, to a certain extent, is true. But I have every right to be offended by the sentiment of your comments. I am a good person, and I dont think I deserve to be punished for something as trivial as disbelief. I am simply holding any kind of conclusions until conclusive evidence is presented. Is that really deserving of torture? I like to think that is the most intellectually honest approach.

I will not respect your
beliefs; I will mock them publicly, belittle them, I will be sarcastic, condescending, rude and obnoxious to your beliefs. Why??? I believe I have every right to treat such inhumane beliefs inhumanely. YOUR beliefs want everybody to think that we are all deserving of torture from the second we are born, your beliefs want people to mock and belittle anyone and everyone who does not see things your way. Your beliefs are rude and obnoxious.

You expect me to be respectful of ideas that have been demoralizing people for centuries. I will respect your beliefs the SECOND you start respecting my right to disbelieve in them and the moment that you realize exactly why other people might be a little offended when you tell them (in very indirect ways) that you hope they die soon.

I have EVERY RIGHT to say that your religion is full of shit. You want my honest opinion? I THINK YOUR RELIGION IS. Its divisive, insulting and it turns perfectly rational people who usually look at reality from an
objective perspective and who are caring, loving people into monsters who are so bothered by the thought and fear of their own deaths that they devise an earthly and inhumane system of false justice to make them feel a little more secure about their inevitable deaths. But thats not the worst part! Here is the "divine" part of it all YOU HAVE TO CRITICIZE OTHERS while you do it! You have to remind everybody that your "soul" has been blessed and you have to tell others who do not pretend to believe in this nonsense that they are not going to get a piece of the cake. How are you not embarrassed.

For the sake of your own children, your family people around you and humanity in general... Stop telling them what to think, and start showing them how to think. Stop telling people how different they are and start looking for some common ground. If you are wrong about your fairy tale (which you probably are, the numbers are against you) you have spent a good chunk of your life teaching a doctrine that will further and widen the gap that is killing people as we speak.

Enjoy your life, its all you have, if god exists I really doubt he will punish you for trying to coexists with other humans with different ideas THAT HE PUT HERE.

When you teach children to believe in some of the things you believe in you open the door to horrible things. The spectrum of possibilities is to vast to quantify. Many horrible things have been done in the name of your god, and he allows it, and according to what I get from your beliefs he is ok with it.

He is a prick.
